Against Breast Cancer
Against Breast Cancer is a registered charity in England and Wales. It was founded by Dr. Anthony Leathem, a pathologist at the Middlesex Hospital, and his wife Patricia, a breast cancer theatre nurse at Oxford’s Churchill Hospital.
The charity funds research into new treatments, earlier diagnosis and advice to reduce the risk of recurrence and secondary spread of BC. The ultimate aim of the charity is to increase the survival rates of all patients with BC and discover a vaccine against the disease.
American Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF)
The mission of the Americn Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) is to provide education, access and financial assistance to aid in the early detection, treatment and survival of BC for underserved and uninsured individuals, regardless of age, race or gender through the Breast Cancer Assistance Program, the Community Partnership Program, the Community Advocacy and Education Program and the Animated Breast Cancer Patient Education Program.
Breast Cancer Angels
Breast Cancer Angels is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to individuals undergoing BC treatment in the U.S.
The organization provides gift cards for groceries and gas, rental and mortgage assistance and help with medical co-pays to provide immediate financial relief.
The goal of the organization is to ensure that no patient is forced to make a decision between treatment and food.
Breast Cancer Canada
Founded in 1991, Breast Cancer Canada is the only national BC organization in Canada dedicated exclusively to raising funds for cutting-edge research.
The organization also advocates and educates the public on the latest scientific breakthroughs in the field of BC research.
Breastcancer.org
The mission of Breastcancer.org is to help people make sense of the complex medical and personal information about breast health and BC to allow them to make the best decisions for their lives.
Founded by Marisa C. Weiss, MD, the organization offers free access to educational content, multimedia resources, personalized recommendations, community conversations and Spanish language resources.
Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that supports clinical and translational research on BC at medical institutions in the US and abroad.
The foundation currently funds more than 255 researchers in 14 different countries. Its mission is to prevent and cure BC by advancing research.
National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF)
The mission of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is to provide help and inspire hope to those affected by BC through early detection, education and support services in the U.S.
NBCF was founded by breast cancer survivor Janelle Hail in 1991 and offers free, innovative programs to women facing BC so that they do not face breast cancer alone.
Breast Cancer Now
Breast Cancer Now is a U.K.-based charity that offers a range of support services for people affected by BC, both online and in person.
The aim of the charity is to ensure that everyone diagnosed with BC lives and is supported to live well by 2050.
The charity funds research to treat secondary BC, develop better treatments, prevent and diagnose BC early and improve people’s quality of life.
It also works with people affected by BC to ensure their voices are heard by the government, National Health Service and drug companies.
Breast Cancer UK
Breast Cancer UK is a community of scientists, campaigners, people affected by BC, advocates and supporters that work towards a world where everyone can access evidence and support to reduce the risk of BC. They also work to ensure governments and regulators take action to limit the exposure to harmful chemicals and enact health-protective policies, research into the causes of BC and prioritize prevention.
Prevent Breast Cancer
Prevent Breast Cancer is the only U.K.-based charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of BC, to shield future generations from BC.
The charity is focused on preventing, rather than curing BC and freeing the world from the disease altogether. It funds research projects on gene research, screening and detection, lifestyle and environmental risk factors and preventive drugs.
The charity is situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK and promotes early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes.
Susan G. Komen
Susan G. Komen is a BC organization in the U.S., the mission of which is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure BC.
The organization provides resources for patients with BC to understand the American medical system. They also fund research into the causes and treatment of breast cancer.
The Pink Fund
The Pink Fund is a non-profit organization that provides financial support to patients eith BC in active treatment, to help cover essential living expenses.
Through a 90-day grant program, The Pink Fund allows patients to meet their critical expenses for housing, transportation, utilities and insurance.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation
The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant-making trust in the U.K., and its mission is to offer grants to UK charities working towards relieving the needs of people who have been affected by BC or those who work to advance the understanding of BC.
United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF)
The United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) is a national non-profit organization founded in 2000 that started as a small grassroots organization serving women and men in New York with low incomes who are under-insured or non-insured.
The mission of the UBCF is to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by BC through programs to support individuals and families to manage BC or those in need of early detection services.
The aim of UBCF is to assist those who need resources and encouragement as they navigate their journey through individual grants, holistic treatment, community service, child sponsorship, breast screening, breast reconstruction surgery, college scholarship and a wish fund.
